Mi-Si Electronics Design, Inc. (pronounced “My-Sigh”) was founded in April 2004 by an experienced team of engineers with a passion and a drive to make music technology better - for both artists and music lovers. Although new to the marketplace, Mi-Si's engineers bring an arsenal of expertise and more than 25 years experience in the amplification field, developing exciting and revolutionary electronics specifically designed for acoustic amplification.

In the past, conventional circuit design components have been a burden to acoustic musicians, incurring extra cost, requiring additional space, and decreasing reliability and tonal quality. Making a signal pass as simple as possible has not been a luxury, but a necessity. This knowledge is the driving force behind Mi-Si's approach - minimalist design with maximum functionality. Musicians have known this all along, the fewer obstacles between your pickup and your amp, the better your sound.

Battery-Free Operation - After more than 25 years of designing and building preamps, Mi-Si's team of engineers proudly introduces a truly significant and unique breakthrough: a high-performance, fully active preamp that does NOT NEED BATTERIES. No 9-Volt, no AA, no AAA, no lithium – NO BATTERIES at all. A special blend of new energy sources with very low-power components and our ability to design compact and efficient circuits make our battery-free products a reality.

The Mi-Si Acoustic Duo system includes the revolutionary new Flux 2.0 active, battery-free magnetic soundhole pickup for acoustic guitar with the Mi-Si Power Charger. 

The Flux 2.0 pickup employs a unique "planar" single coil design - less susceptible to AC hum than the traditional bobbin wound pickups.  This design provides much broader sound and reduces the overall weight, combining the benefits of a single coil pickup with the virtually hum-free operation of a humbucker.

The Flux 2.0 is an ACTIVE magnetic pickup, so you don't have to worry about cable capacitance or the input impedance of your system - the pure and natural sound of your acoustic guitar is not altered.

Powering up the Flux 2.0 for 60 seconds with the Mi-Si Power Charger
will provide you with up to 8 hours of performance time.

Mi-Si's latest breakthrough in acoustic amplification, the CUTLESS is an innovative analog signal processing unit with digital wireless remote control. The CUTLESS eliminates the need to cut a hole in your prized instrument. Bass, Treble, Mid-range, Brilliance, Volume, and Phase are controlled by wireless remote control outside the
instrument at your fingertips.

The analog preamp is incorporated into the instrument's endpin jack. The CUTLESS utilizes Mi-Si's custom piezo linearization scheme, allowing for the most truthful and accurate sound from the pickup.

The Mi-Si Acoustic Trio Vio/Mando system features an active, battery-free preamp designed specifically to work with the Kremona piezo pickup for violin and mandolin. The preamp for this system also uses Mi-Si's custom piezo linearization scheme. The extremely compact active battery-free preamp is built into a 1/4” Carpenter Jack. Power up for 60 seconds using the Mi-Si Power Charger and play for up to 8 hours.

The Mi-Si Align - the world's most flexible preamp...

The Align is the single most flexible, compact and lightweight battery-free preamp currently manufactured. The board thickness is just 20mm thick versus more traditional circuit boards that are 62 mms thick. It comes standard with active bass, treble and volume controls and can be installed virtually anywhere within the instrument.

Amazingly, the Align can be bent up to a radius of 40 mm. There is no danger of damaging components because they all are sitting on stiffened areas of the Align directly under the pots.

Designed to work with LR Baggs Element pickup, the Align can also be specially ordered to work with any brand pickup. For more “flexibility” in placement, the board can be cut into two or three sections, allowing for even more complicated installations. The perfect choice for amplifying ukuleles, mandolins, violins and other smaller
bodied acoustic instruments.

And like with any other Mi-Si preamp it requires no batteries and takes only 60 seconds to charge. A single charge will net you
8 hours of active preamp power.
